Project description:
Training course “True or False” is a project about sex education, which aims to provide innovate non formal methodology for the youth workers. The project is developed according to the needs of involved partners and target groups youth workers are working with. “True or False” will gather youth workers from 9 different countries and introduce them a new, innovative non-formal methodology, which will help them to work on sex education topic with their target groups. The new non-formal methodology will give them the new prospective, not only about sex education in Europe, but also in different parts of the world, such as United States, Australia.
Objectives of the project:
• Sharing participant’s perceptions about what they think sexual education is according to their experiences;
• Providing up to date information about sexual education and three main sub topics, which are: sexual education in general; teenage pregnancy and methods to prevent unwanted consequence; Sexually Transmitted Diseases;
• Equipping participants with skills, to make them able to work with challenging cultural environment (target groups with specific religious, social, cultural and traditional background);
•Creating a friendly and cozy atmosphere for the participants to come up with the certain plan (event, workshop) in order to start delivering sex education among their target group;
• Sharing reliable Online resources which should be consulted by young people when it comes to knowing more about sexual issues;
• Creating the tangible result such as online video about sex ed, which will be developed during the whole project and in the end used by the different youth workers with their target groups;
• Encouraging participants to create a workshop about sex ed, perform it in their organizations, in order to deliver useful information and on the other hand, share the project results among their target groups.
We think that “True or False” training course will be the start of nonformal methodology in sex education topic. It can a beginning of sex education topic in most of the participant countries. We truly believe that this project can be a life changing not only for participating youth workers but also for their target groups as well. Sex education is the right which should have any person regardless their place of residence, religious, social or economic background this project will be dedicated to educating youth workers and make them multipliers, who will later give the chance to
young people to use their right and improve their quality of life, have healthy sex, relationships and share their knowledge with their peers as well.
Methodology:
The Training Course will use non formal education. We try to facilitate the creative process through a wide spectrum of tools and activities that we will more precisely describe later in the official program of the training course. Through non formal learning methods and a variety of tools used during the TC participants will be able not only to learn by experience and reflect on their own interactions, but will also be encouraged to create ideas on how to become actively engaged in their society, share their experiences, present their ideas and give each other feedback.
The types of methods are taken from non formal education and we intend to make it as diverse as possible.
Profile of participants:
Two participants meeting the following criterias :
-Are more than 20 years old;
-Have good communication skills in English;
-Are able to take part in whole duration of the project;
-Are interested in topics such as: gender equality, gender, sex education, violence agains women, LGBTIQ+ and related issues.
-We welcome participants who are interested in short video making, as the project will give us possibilities to shoot short videos about sex education.
-Have already some experience in youth field;
Venue:
Training course will take place in Georgia, Misaktsieli. The town is very small and very near to the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi.
Accommodation includes shared double room, full board, coffee breaks and the use of conference facilities. You will be sharing a room with one or two persons. Each room has one bathroom; towels and bed linen are provided.
! Note: Organisers will not provide any accommodation for additional staying in Georgia. If you plan to arrive a few days earlier or depart a few days later you are kindly requested to inform us and we will be glad to assist you with booking a hotel or hostel;
Costs:
The training course is funded by the Erasmus+ that will cover the costs of accommodation and food. Your travel costs will be reimbursed up to the following amount per person: 275 euro
Reimbursement of travel costs will only be done upon presentation of all (including return tickets) original tickets, receipt/invoices and boarding passes. Please remember to bring the original invoice with you – there will be no reimbursement without the original invoice.Participants travelling with airplanes will be asked to make Online Check In before departure, it will make easier to have your boarding passes on time. Reimbursement will be done in EUROS, regardless of the currency indicated on your ticket and receipt/invoice.
Participation fee:
There is a participation fee of 20 euro which has to be paid before the training course.
