During the volunteering ESC project “Diversity fest” many activities were organised this summer, but the most memorable was the Youth Caravan.
Youth Caravan is a special information campaign, organised by Alternativi international in different cities round Bulgaria. The main goal is to spread a word about opportunities which Erasmus + and European Solidarity Corps provide toy pun .Alternativi crew and motivated young ESC volunteers exemplify cross-cultural networking around the world to strengthen connectivity between people from different countries and backgrounds.
This year we decided to visit Plovdiv, Burgas and Varna from 26-th to 30-th of July. For 1 one week we managed to talk with more 1400 people who were eager to learn what Erasmus + and ESC programs can offer to them, how they can develop, gain new skills, knowledge and maybe one fo the most important – to be volunteer. People had the chance to test their luck on our lucky wheel, se how good they are with throwing balls, take a picture with our instagram frame, “see” their Erasmus + and ESC future, take an instant photo, see how Erasmus + connects people and many more cool activities which helped them to find out more about the programs. Even more – in order to show how diverse the world can we preformed a cool flashmob including movements from 5 different countries, the countries our we are coming from. The team embraced the spirit of each city and attracted people with high energy. Street interviews were held, flash mob was danced, games were played with the children, and it became a gateway for anyone who wants to go abroad to improve themselves. “It was my dream.” Although we heard this sentence many times, each team member told everyone how these dreams would come true as if they were their own dreams. Every face that left smiling and thanking made everyone happy and created a feeling of satisfaction. Completed and working like a big family, the team overcame every city with a smiling face and full energy, ignoring the situations such as travel and fatigue, made friends and left the 5-day busy pace completed and satisfied. Being a way for people’s dreams to come true, shedding light on the path of families who are looking for a way for their children to develop, being hope for young people who have given up, and providing unforgettable information for everyone whose eyes sparkle when they see us made our team feel satisfied at the end of the youth caravan.
We all believe the information is one of the most powerful weapon which we can give to people. That’s why we organised YouthCaravan for 4-th time. We are sure this year edition was one of best. Keep tune because next year WE WILL BE BACK.
