Title: The Guardians of E-Tourism

Place: Gran Canaria, Spain
“The Guardians of E-Tourism” is a project located in the municipality of Santa Lucia, on the island of Gran Canaria, one of the most important touristic island in the world. Our village is situated in a small rural area in the countryside. The main aim of this project is empowering young people from the countries involved in the protection of the cultural heritage in order to promote and improve the opportunities in the tourism field.
– Increasing the interest for the ETourism as a social, efficiency and responsible development.
– Approaching the importance of protecting the cultural heritage as a unique value in our countries as touristic destination we are.
– Putting together the points in common we have and work on them.
– Working deeply the balance between Tourism and Environment.
We will use a non formal participatory methodology with games, role plays, cultural visits and so on. During the seven days of the exchange, several activities will be carried out to raise awareness of young people from other regions and to take into account the importance of cultural heritage in Europe. It will be used as a link between young people from different countries. We will also work the understanding of the traditions which results in the protection of the culture of the countries that shape this great European Nation. In order to achieve this goal, we will manage workshops, visibility activities, cultural visits, etc.
Participating countries: Spain, Bulgaria and Poland
Profile of participants:
-10 Young people between 17-25 years old and no age limit for the leader
-Motivated to participate in the project
-They are NOT on European Voluntary Service (EVS) at the moment of the activity
Each participant will have to contribute to the project with 25€ as a participation fee.
All costs related to accommodation and food will be covered by the receiving organization.
Traveling from Bulgaria to Gran Canaria, Spain will be managed by Alternativi International team and the selected participants will receive the proposal from the organization for the tickets. The tickets for the whole group will be purchased by the sending organization and for that each selected participants will have to give REFUNDABLE deposit of 75 euros to the organization and will get it back during the activities of the exchange.
