Title: The GLUE

Aim : Invest in young people – the GLUE Project” is a youth exchange that will unite 42 unemployed youngsters from Croatia, Macedonia, Romania, Turkey, Portugal and Bulgaria. The main topics of the project relate to volunteerism and voluntary activities. Voluntarism is an important and increasingly popular mechanism for young people to bring positive change in society, foster social inclusion and it is becoming more and more relevant as a mechanism to engage young people in ensuring peace and sustainable human development.Young people increasingly feel that volunteerism complements formal education in teaching the skills that are required for the job market, such as leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, planning, management, creativity, communication.
Objectives:
– To engage 42 participants from 6 countries in a project about practicing voluntarism and enrich their knowledge about personal and professional benefits they gain from it;
– To allow participants to recognize and reward volunteering work, share practice among countries, learn how to seek and recognize volunteering opportunities on local, national and international level;
– To implement 5 local actions in Murter (help in elderly home, work for the local primary school, work in gardening, work in ecological action, work on drystone walls) and with this to provide opportunity for 42 youngsters to experience volunteering in practice while working together with and for the benefit of local community;
– To provide participants space to develop, during the project, set of skills (teambuilding, presentational, organizational, social), attitudes (positive, self-confidence, self-esteem, and life satisfaction), promote active citizenship and participation in society through volunteering;
– To recognize volunteering as a door to fight unemployment, chance to try new career, gain experience and enrich employability skills;
– To promote values and norms of a good active citizens in society and social inclusion achieved through volunteering actions;
– To tackle the topic of how volunteers can help immigrants integrating in the society.
Accomodation:
Hotel Colentum. You will be accommodated in triple bedrooms, with private bathroom. The accommodation and
3 meals per day will be provided by the hosting organization.
Participants:
5 participants from Bulgaria meeting the following criterias:
Partner countries: Croatia, Macedonia, Turkey, Portugal, Romania and Bulgaria
Venue: Murter, Croatia
Financial conditions: The Bulgarian participants will get travel reimbursement up to 170 euros for return ticket.
Participation fee: Each participants will have to make own contribution of 20 euros
