On 26 of June 2017 Association Alternativi International organized an event in high school “Petar and Ivan Kanazirevi” in Razlog to spread awareness for the World Refugee Day on 20th of June and to show solidarity with all people who are forced to flee from their homes due to conflicts. It is important to be aware of the dangerous journey of the refugees to Europe seeking peaceful land so our team held a workshop with 50 young people in Razlog.
Together with our EVS volunteers we held a quiz on migration for the young people to discuss the reasons, consequences and situation related to migrant crisis in Europe. We also presented the final video of the youth exchange All in the same boat-becoming an activist against hate held in Bansko between 22nd and 31st of May 2017 and some of the participants in the project shared their experience and knowledge. At the end in order to put ourselves in the shoes of refugees we have played the special board game “The Journey”-showing the dangerous way of refugees to Europe. The game “The Journey”was developed by our partners from Turkey System and Generation with the support of Anna Lindh Founation. We as young people are aiming to spread the message of Love, Peace, Equality, Tolerance and Solidarity! And we all should try to bring this message to the world and say NO to Hate because we are all humans and we are all equal and we hope everyone find Peace and there will be no more wars and conflicts and people will eventually return to their homes.
The event was organized as a follow up activity from the project All in the same boat-becoming an activist against hate financed by Erasmus+ Program and also supported by International Development Alliance (IDA) Network.
