Join The Future Project aims to find out innovative approaches to provide participation of young people on decision making mechanisms and promote active citizenship. Youth participation is an indivisible part of the democratic processes; it requires involvement, inclusion and cooperation between various sectors – youth itself, governmental and non-governmental sectors. Nowadays countless individuals suffer from political, cultural, social collisions, economic obstacles and unemployment. Moreover, lack of recognition and beliefs in youth in the society. These are the reasons what causes them stay aside from decision-making process on the local, national and regional levels. These problems causes that the youth has lack of confidence, courage and empowerment to have their say. There is a need among the youth organizations (public, governmental and non-governmental) to facilitate youth participation in society, to motivate and encourage for shaping a voice to be included. With our project, young people will explore new, innovative ways of participation and active citizenship. With the help of project sessions project participants will design their own path to find out the importance of youth participation and innovative solutions to young people’s problems on active citizenship. With dissemination of project results young people living in partner countries will learn about innovative approaches to bring out their voice, participate in administration and take an active role in their community. Participants from public bodies / municipalities will transmit the project results to their organizations and perform follow up activities on these innovative approaches developed in project. So, our project results will be adopted by public bodies of partner countries. This will be a good sample for other public institutions and this will bring on new strategies to provide youth participation in public sector. International dissemination of the project will enlarge the impact of innovative approaches  developed in the project and this impact which is adopted by public sector will provide a strong effect on
European communities about youth participation. Afterall, with Join The Future Project, more effective
youth work will be conducted in partner countries and a strong impact about inclusion of youth will be
provided on international level.
Activities will be held in Bursa, Turkey in 31/03/2018 – 08/04/2018. There will be 38 participants from 6 participating countries (Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Portugal and Sweden). Participants will be like 1 group leader (youth worker), 3 youth workers, 2 representatives from public bodies / municipalities. Participants from Turkey will be 1 trainer, 1 group leader (youth worker), 4 youth workers 2 representatives from municipalities (from Nilüfer Innovation Centre and Nilüfer Youth Office of Nilüfer Municipality). All the activities and trainings will be provided using non-formal education methods such as team works, group studies, reflection sessions, drama workshops,  simulation methods, outdoor activities, study visits, little games, etc.

Aims of the project: 

The main aim of the project is to find out innovative approaches to provide young people with equal opportunities and experience which enable them to develop the competencies to play a full part in all aspects of society through expressing their needs, interests and visions. To reach the aim we set the reinforcement the cooperation across the sectors involved in youth field (public bodies – local municipalities, active youth non-governmental organizations) as our goal.

Objectives of the project: 

-to create space for discussing on innovative approaches, sharing knowledge and exchanging experiences and good practices in the field of participation of youth and active citizenship;
– to create space for building international partnership and planning future projects in the field of innovative perspectives for youth involvement in decision-making;
– to find new strategies and inspiration on creating and supporting local youth initiatives;
–  learn new approaches and to find innovative ways of communication between youth and local municipalities /experts
– to discover the opportunities under Erasmus+ in general, specifically focusing on Key Action 3 – structural dialogue;
– to create opportunities for starting long-term international cooperation in the field of youth participation and structural dialogue projects;

Profile of participants:

Country groups will be consisting of the participants who are active and experienced youth workers; motivated to participate and committed to implement the follow-up projects; open for social innovation and creativity; working with the persons with fewer opportunities.
Each country group will consist of two main profiles:
– Representatives of youth non-governmental organizations – 4 people;
– Representatives of public institutions / municipalities working on youth field – 2 people

Costs:

The seminar is funded by the Erasmus+ that will cover the costs of accommodation and food. Your travel costs will be reimbursed up to the following amount per person: 275 euro
