Youth exchange “All in the same boat” – Bansko, Bulgaria

Title:  All in the same boat

Dates: 23 May -31 May 2017

Aim :We are aiming to create a sustainable long-term project, with the duration of one year, which includes a training course a youth exchange and a seminar, in order to develop competences in Youth and Youth Workers for the advocacy and mediation of a truly multicultural community/society, focusing in the integration of migrants and ethnic minorities as well as the promotion of no hate speech and anti-discriminatory strategies.

The type of second main activity is a youth exchange. This activity using non-formal learning platform will explore basic concepts of hate speech, violence and the problems concerning migration crisis. It will be aiming to transform participating young people into activists – “No Hate Speech Ambassadors” and “Peace Ambassadors”. The participants will be themselves planning and conducting the campaign in the city of Bansko to practice the competences in the reality.  The participants will also have space to get engaged in planning the campaign which they will conduct in their communities. There will be allocated time for intercultural experience and excursions. The participants will have chance to reflect and express themselves in creative way.


-To engage young people in active citizenship, activism, campaigning, volunteering and participation;

-To empower the participants with “No Hate Ambassador” competencies;

-To foster youth participation, To empower young people to “Have their word” in decision-making processes and social life;

-to gain practical competences in intercultural and interreligious dialogue, networking both in an international and national level, as well as in communication, campaigning, and in critical thinking;

-to develop practical skills to be more inclusive and attentive in group-work, decision-making processes and in everyday-life as active, conscious citizens; to create a learning space for debating;

-To foster the values of tolerance, acceptance, equality and equity;

-To engage youth in the construction of inclusive society.

The participants that will be involved in this project are young people, with efficient level of English, interest on arts and culture, coming from rural areas of facing financial obstacles, seeking for inspiration and (or) want to change their career orientation and create their entrepreneurship opportunities.

Profile of participants:

5 participants per partner organization  ( 4 participants + 1 leader = 5 people) with the following profile:

-All participants must be currently residing in the country they will represent and be able to prove it if needed with documents

-Motivated to take part in the projectThe participants should meet all the unwritten criteria’s as well as NOT TO BE: On their  European Voluntary Service (EVS) at the moment of the activity;

Partner countries:Bulgaria, Finland, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Turkey, Czech republic and The Netherlands
