Dissemination activity under TC “Play & Resolve: Gamified Solutions for Peacebuilding”

On Sunday, June 1st, the small square in the heart of Rutigliano’s old town turned into a cozy urban living room filled with rugs, tables, chairs, and board games. Citizens of all ages were invited to sit down, relax, and reconnect through the joy of play.

The initiative, titled Borgo in Gioco, aimed to reclaim underused public space and transform it into a place for community, dialogue, and togetherness — using board games as the central tool.

At 12:00 PM, I had the pleasure of sharing with the community my recent experience in Bulgaria, where I took part in the Erasmus+ project Play & Resolve. During that training course, we explored how gamification and educational games can be used for peacebuilding and conflict transformation.

This event in Rutigliano was not just about playing: it was about creating opportunities for connection, testing the power of non-formal education at the local level, and proving that games can build bridges — in Europe and in our own neighborhoods.
