As part of the Erasmus+ Training Course “Tech-Savvy Youth Engagement,” a follow-up activity was organized in collaboration with the organization Happy Code, which provided equipment and logistical support. The activity targeted primary school children under the jurisdiction of the local Town Hall/Municipality and was implemented in two non-consecutive parts to involve both parents and children.
The first part of the activity had an expositive format and was dedicated to parents. During this session, the project and its objectives were introduced, with a focus on explaining the upcoming interactive activity that would be implemented with their children. Parents were given the opportunity to ask questions and were asked for their consent for their children’s participation.
The second part focused directly on the children through an interactive session. Using an engaging interface with the popular game Minecraft, the children worked together to solve puzzles and challenges. This approach not only sparked their creativity and collaboration but also introduced them to the idea of using digital tools and gaming platforms for educational purposes.
Throughout the activity, parental permission was requested for taking photos, ensuring transparency and involvement of families in every step of the process.
This follow-up initiative demonstrated how technology and gamification can be powerful tools to engage young learners, connect with parents, and promote digital literacy in a fun, accessible way.
