During the project Diversity Fest, the volunteers were busy with so many activities not only in Blagoevgrad, but also around the country. As part of their activities promoting diversity and European values, the volunteers worked with group of kids and youth from nearby village Barakovo. The volunteers visited the kindergarten in the village and they came up with a personal project idea-to help for renovating, painting and putting plants in the kindergarten to make it more cozy and pleasant for the local kids. What more beautiful than children’s smiles, rights? So Alternativi decided to support this personal project and the team and all volunteers along with our local partners from Barakovo and Kocherinovo-association Together for success led by volunteering spirit teamed up to create beautiful setting for the local kids. The garden was renovated, flowers, grass and plants planted, the garden wall was renovated and painted, the area around cleaned up as well as some painting and renovation work inside was done. After just few times and all the work, passion and dedication put by all the volunteers we had an amazing result-more cozy, youth friendly and colorful kindergarten and more smiling kids faces! What more to wish from a personal volunteering project! Thank you all volunteers and especially Erik from Spain who was the leader of this personal project idea!
