About the project:

“Green Eu-rope“ project addresses sustainable development issues by promoting young people’s active citizenship in this field by exploring ways to engage young citizens from European Union in the fight against climate change. The objectives of the professional development activity are to deepen participants understanding of the importance of environmental awareness among young people and their own communities, to raise participants’ knowledge on specific issues recognized as threats to the natural environment and build against sustainable development, to develop specific knowledge on how to protect the natural environment in daily life and how to transfer this knowledge and skills to local communities.

Using a variety of methods, we will develop solidarity and promote tolerance among young people, in particular in order to foster social cohesion in the European Union and partner countries to provide solutions towards common ecological problems. By exploring common problems and issues as well as sharing skills, knowledge and practice on their cultures and everyday life.


1.To raise eco-awareness and develop specific knowledge on current environmental issues in the world and understand essential reports such as the IPCC (Independent Panel on Climate Change).

2.To transfer the learned knowledge back to participants own communities and learn Education for Sustainability and Global Citizenship.

3.To deepen the understanding of the importance of environmental awareness for young people and their own communities.

4.To develop knowledge on specific issues recognized as threats to the natural environment such as the 6 gases that contribute to the greenhouse effect, and supermarket products reliant on Palm oil being responsible for deforestation and killing the nutrients in the soil.

5.To protect the natural environment in daily life and how to transfer this knowledge and skills to local communities.

6.To consider ethical considerations in battling climate change, knowing what the hard-line is and what is a peaceful protest that brings the change.

7.To measure participants Carbon Footprint and look at what reduction and/or changes need to be made to do so

Participant profile: 

We are looking for 5 participants with the following profile.

This professional development training’s target group consists of youth workers, youth leaders, youth trainers and educators, youth work/educational students that work with young people in their daily work life or frequent voluntary activities, especially with hard to reach young people and those representing minority groups. Participants should have a specific interest in climate and environmental issues and be eager to learn more about the environment, climate changes and how best to fight against them.

Participants should have at least good command of verbal & written English and be available for the whole project time (preparation, main activity, material development, dissemination, evaluation). Knowledge of non-formal learning and youth-related topics will be beneficial for a productive process and enhanced experience sharing.

Insurance, Travel and Finances:

Travel costs for Bulgarian participant will be covered up to 275 euro


The Project venue is in Merimasku, Finland. You will be accommodated in a camping area, which is 28 kilometres from the Turku city centre. You will be living in shared rooms with three other participants of same-sex. Each room has a separate bathroom. Bed linen will be provided, but bring your own towel. Please, note that there are no shops close to the training venue and the internet access is limited. In case you have special needs (allergies, dietary needs) note them in the application form

COVID-19 Restrictions:

All travellers to Finland are upon entry required to provide 2 DOCUMENTS: 1.proof of vaccination OR overcome of the disease not older than six months and

2.a negative COVID-19 test result not older than 48 hours (it could be either antigen or PCR test – both are recognized)- the costs of such will be covered by the participants
