Nino’s experience about her EVS in Bulgaria

Once I read – ,, Erasmus is most beautiful period of many people’s lives. Experiencing life abroad has innumerable benefits for everything from the personal to the professional. It opens doors, forges friendships for life, and connects people across cultures and countries on a scale never seen before. “

As you know EVS was part of Erasmus program (new – ,, European  solidarity corps “ ) and I had a chance to be part of this amazing project during 9 months in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria doing my voluntary service in Alternativi International.

I think that it was the best decision of my life which I have ever done. I used to live with people from different countries, share my sadness and happiness with them, dance, sing and spend memorable days.

Now I feel that I am part of this international family, I have home in every country, I know more about cultural difference and traditions, became more open –minded and confident.

During my EVS I presented my country twice, it was amazing feeling to tell history and facts to foreign friends about Georgia, feel their emotions and proud with my work in abroad.

I worked with locals and used to speak in Bulgarian, it was nice experience and thanks to EVS I had Bulgarian language classes too. Now I can speak-,, горе-долу” as  Bulgarians say .

I did round trip in Bulgaria by hitchhike, which is every EVS volunteers must do thing. I used to speak with Bulgarian drivers and get more information about Bulgaria, they were kind and hospitable like every Bulgarians do.

Bulgarian can proud because of their country, because it’s amazing with its natural resorts and sea sides, also with history and architect. I can’t say any words about- ,, Banitsa” or ,,Tarator “  ,  Hope new volunteers will taste them .

At the end Erasmus is a never ending story in our lives. life is short try Erasmus!
